Love Island producers will bring in perfect girl for Hugo, insists show winner Paige Turley

LOVE Island winner Paige Turley has insisted that producers will find Hugo Hammond the perfect girl after he was snubbed by his fellow Islanders.

The PE teacher - who is paired with Sharon - was left red faced when no girls stepped forward for him during the first coupling up of the series, and since then he has been the butt of a couple of jokes.

But Paige is sure his luck will change once producers play matchmaker and handpick him his type on paper - because the same thing happened to her.

The Scottish singer was initially coupled up with Ollie Williams and had to wait for late arrival Finley Tapp before her head really turned.

Speaking to The Sun Online, she said: “Hugo is lovely. I think there is always one guy in every series who is a bit of a slow burner. I think it will take time. It’s hard, there are only five girls in there.

“I think it really gets interesting when the bombshells come in. It’s just the right girl isn’t in there at the minute.

“The producers are really great at matchmaking. If Hugo said he wants a bubbly girl whose got brown hair or whatever, you will see eventually a bombshell who is perfectly suited for him.”

She continued:  “When I went in there I said I like a guy with a beard, who is quite loud and has a cockney accent. Finn doesn’t have the accent but he’s close to it. So I think they are good at their matchmaking.”

Paige and Finn have been together since meeting on the first ever winter series which was filmed in South Africa at the start of 2020 - just before coronavirus really took hold of the world.

They moved in together in Manchester during the first lockdown and are closer than ever, which Paige believes is due to being able to concentrate on their relationship.

Asked if she felt Covid had affected her Love Island journey at all, she replied: “You go in there to meet someone - you don’t want to be pulled up and down the country.

“I think in other series that has been the case. It was maybe a blessing in disguise to really get to know each other.”
