A Place in the Sun’s Dannie Menzies left squirming as buyer claims she’s ‘too wide to fit in shower’
A PLACE in the Sun’s Dannie Menzies was left squirming after a buyer claimed she was “too wide to fit in the shower”.
Tuesday’s episode of the Channel 4 show saw Danni meet Gary and Linda, who were looking for a holiday home with sea views near Manilva in southern Spain.
The couple had a budget of £85,000 and Danni admitted from the off that it would be difficult to fulfil all their requirements for that price.
The first property was “too small” for the couple, while the second had issues with road noise and not enough privacy.
Danni had higher hopes for property three; a three-bedroom villa on the market for £84,866, but the couple still found issues with it.
As they looked into a guest bedroom, Linda simply said: “Oh dear” and Gary replied: “Tiny isn’t it.”
Linda added: “It’s a shame and the bathroom is tiny. You wouldn’t get in there.”
Gary admitted: “I’d have a job wouldn’t I? I’d have a job getting in the shower cubicle anyway.”
Linda joked back: “I’d have a job width-ways and you’d definitely have a job height ways.”
Back outside, Danni immediately picked up on the couple’s “mixed reaction” to property three.
Gary admitted the villa didn’t match up to property two, saying: “This is not so nice.”
The remaining properties didn’t fair any better and Danni had to admit defeat.
Meanwhile Gary and Linda admitted they would need to go home and save up some more money if they wanted to find their dream holiday home.
A Place in the Sun airs weekdays at 3pm on Channel 4.
