Love Island’s Iain Stirling is recording his lines in a dark UK basement while Laura Whitmore films in the luxury villa
LOVE Island's Iain Stirling has revealed that he is recording his lines in a dark UK basement while wife Laura Whitmore films from the luxury villa in Majorca.
The 33-year-old comic is the iconic voice of the show, providing witty narration throughout the nightly episodes.
Meanwhile, Laura hosts the programme - attending the villa for launch night as well as some of the re-coupling ceremonies.
She was in Majorca as the ITV2 hit kicked off this evening, but Iain isn't enjoying quite the same luxury back home.
Taking to his Instagram Story earlier today, the Scotsman posted a screenshot of a text conversation he was having.
He captioned the post: "Everyone: At least you won't be stuck in a potacabin this year.
"@LoveIsland…"
The exposed chat message reads: "We are in basement."
He later shared a photo of himself sitting in front of the mic with a cheeky expression on his face as he prepared to record tonight's one-liners.
Last week, Iain revealed that he wouldn't be heading to Majorca for work on the show like usual as he was wary of having to quarantine.
The country is currently on the government's green list, which means travellers don't have to quarantine upon their return to the UK, but that could change at any time.
Appearing on Loose Women, the star shared: "We are in London, I think, now, this is the thing with coronavirus, I never want to say anything because you never know, who knows what's going to happen.
"I don't know what colour Majorca is going to be next week, it will be tartan by the time I'm done with it!"
Iain went on: "I am very excited, I have not been in a sound booth for quite some time. I am looking forward to being locked away all summer."
He has remained in the UK despite Laura jetting abroad with their baby daughter, who was born earlier this year.
It is not known how often she will travel between the holiday destination and the UK throughout the series.
