Love Island 2021 contestant Sharon Gaffka shows off her curves in a skimpy black basque

LAWYER Sharon Gaffka’s latest brief is to win this year’s Love Island — which begins a week today.

The 25-year-old made a fine opening statement by showing off her curves in a skimpy black basque and a daring purple dress.

Sharon, an ex-beauty queen from Didcot, Oxfordshire, knows what it takes to win after lifting the 2018 Miss International UK crown.

Judging by that, the ITV2 show could be an open and shut case. . .

Sharon will line up alongside housemates including Asos model Aaron Francis, 24.

Bosses will hope history doesn’t repeat itself when Zara Holland lost her Miss GB title for having sex on the show five years ago.

Model Sharon, from Didcot, is an ambassador for The Young Women’s Trust — a feminist organisation working to achieve economic justice for young women.

She said: “It takes years as a woman to unlearn all the things you’ve been taught to be sorry for.”

She added: “People are going to talk about you, no matter what you do. So you might as well do whatever brings you joy, and live your best life.”

The new Love Islanders will experience an increased “duty of care” from the show when it kicks off next Monday.

It comes after Sophie Gradon, who featured in the 2016 series, took her own life two years later aged 32, and ex-footballer Mike Thalassitis was found dead in a park in North London in 2019 aged 26, having taken part on the show two years earlier.

The casting team have also aimed to have more diverse contestants appear in this seventh series - with Love Island set to have its first disabled star.
