BBC Breakfast’s Carol Kirkwood, 59, reveals secret boyfriend saying he’s the ‘best thing that ever happened to me’

BBC Breakfast’s Carol Kirkwood has opened up about her “extremely handsome” boyfriend.

The 59-year-old weather presenter and former Strictly Come Dancing star paid tribute to the mystery fella in an interview.

She told , discussing her first novel Under A Greek Moon: “Writing about romance came easy, as I’m a die-hard romantic.

“I don’t want to say too much about my boyfriend, but I will say that he is very kind and very funny – he’s always making me laugh. And extremely handsome, as well!

“He always makes me a cup of tea before I go to work in the morning, which is very romantic – it’s 2.45am!

“And he often leaves me a little love note for when I come home from work. That, to me, is worth a million red roses.”

She added that she didn’t know if they would ever get married but said: “He is the best thing that’s ever happened to me, without a shadow of a doubt.”

In 1990 Carol married property developer Jimmy Kirkwood but the couple separated in 2008.

She told the : “I found myself when I got divorced. I started to do things and to think, ‘I’m not going to say no, I’m going to say yes!’”

In 2015, she was among the celebrities taking part in Strictly Come Dancing, partnered with Pasha Kovalev and was the sixth star to be eliminated.
