EastEnders’ Max Bowden splits from long-term girlfriend – weeks after Jessie Wallace made sexually explicit comment
EASTENDERS' Max Bowden has broken up with his long-term girlfriend just weeks after his co-star Jessie Wallace sent him a sexually explicit comment on Instagram.
The actor, 26, who plays Ben Mitchell in the BBC1 soap, had been dating former show runner Danielle McCarney for two years.
The split was "amicable" - but quickly follows a bizarre exchange with Jessie, 49, last month.
A source told The Sun: "They have been working through issues for a while, but decided it was time to call it quits.
"They are a young couple and it was completely amicable.
"Jessie had nothing to do with it, her post with just a joke about the NTAs and everyone took it the wrong way."
The 49-year-old actress - who plays Kat Slater - typed the cryptic message beneath her pal's throwback photo from his night at the National Television Awards two years ago.
Max captioned the shot: "Been a lifetime since this photo 😬😬 #ntas"

Showing her approval, Jessie replied with what appeared to be an inside joke, writing: "Remember… if you need a m***e to cry on…. I’m yer gal 😉"
Fans who spotted the remark were convinced she was chatting him up, as one said: "@jessie.wallace_official 😂😂😂😂 Supportive m***e 😂😂😂 I’m defiantly using this as a pick up line. Cheers Jess.😂😂😂😂"
