FAMILY PLANS

Strictly’s Janette Manrara hinted she was quitting Strictly SEVEN months ago with emotional baby confession

STRICTLY Come Dancing's Janette Manrara hinted she could quit the show seven months ago when she revealed her baby plans with husband Aljaž Škorjanec.

Janette, 37, made the confession in December last year during an Instagram live with fellow Strictly Come Dancing star, Gorka Marquez.

As Gorka chatted away with his adorable daughter Mia, who he shares with Gemma Atkinson, in his arms, Janette couldn't help but gush over the tot.

She then made the candid admission that she was eager to have kids in the future - and was already making plans.

"Aljaz and I are going to have a baby and move to Manchester," she told Gorka, before joking that they could then raise their children together. "That's it. Done," she added.

"Well, you have the best time now, you know, you're at home together, no dancing… there is nothing better to do!", Gorka said at the time, referencing the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent lockdown.

Hilariously, baby Mia appeared to be happy with Janette's confession, and started cooing, prompting Gorka to add: "Look, she says 'yeah!"

Janette and Aljaž have been together for 10 years, and last month the Strictly favourite admitted that she'd been too scared to take the plunge into motherhood because "her body is her job".

However, after enduring 2020 Janette decided that there is no such thing as the "perfect time" to become a mum.

She explained: "We always wanted to have a baby, but 2020 has definitely made me say to myself: 'You know what, Janette, it's never going to be the perfect time but it's always going to be the right time'.

"As a woman who's a dancer, my body is my job so it's scary to make that decision about the perfect time to start a family.

"I always thought there would be a perfect month and year, but what 2020 has made me realise is that perfect time is never going to come along."

Janet recently quit Strictly Come Dancing after eight years to be the host of spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two.

She will be replacing Zoe Ball, who stood down as presenter in May after a decade.

However, there is growing speculation that she left the show because she is pregnant, and some fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

One Tweeted: "How long until we find out Janette is pregnant?! Happy that she’s the new #ItTakesTwo host! #Strictly."

Another said: "Why does everyone assume Janette is pregnant? Maybe she is but just maybe she thought this was her opportunity to get into presenting as it's something she's always wanted to do. #ItTakesTwo#Strictly#theoneshow#"
