Seinfeld fans demand cast of 90’s hit show reunite for TV special after Friends stars’ wildly-popular episode

AFTER HBO Max released the Friends cast reunion special on Thursday, Seinfeld fans are begging for the show to have its own TV celebration.

Created by Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld, the NBC sitcom ran for nine seasons, from 1989 to 1998, and longtime viewers are ready to see the stars reunite.

The new special saw leads Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc come together for close to two hours of reminiscing and fun.

Though many were happy to see the six friends back together, others started to think about which other TV show casts they’d like to see have a reunion, and Seinfeld was the frontrunner.

“This Friends reunion just reminds me of what I’ve always known. Seinfeld > Friends,” one Twitter user wrote.

Another said: “Seinfeld fans now that the Friends reunion has happened,” with a gif saying, “Well? We’re waiting.”

Viewers are more than ready to see castmates Jerry Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Michael Richards, Jason Alexander team up for a reunion special, with some saying it would be the only one “worth watching.”

Others tweeted: “F*** friends, I want a Seinfeld reunion,” “Friends is trash, give me a Seinfeld reunion, that’s something actually worth watching,” and “Yeah yeah Friends Reunion WHERE'S MY SEINFELD GET TOGETHER?!?!?!?!”

After Seinfeld started trending on Twitter because of all the outcry, more fans joined in and said they have to find a way to “make it happen” as the show is “one of the best” ever made.

Though they want a true reunion special, some noted how happy they were that they got a version of it during season 7 of Curb Your Enthusiasm, which was also created by Larry.

“The best reunion so far has been the Seinfeld ‘reunion’ which was basically an entire self aware season of Curb your Enthusiasm,” one fan shared.

During the season 7 finale of HBO’s Curb, suitably titled Seinfeld, Jerry, Julia, Michael, and Jason appeared as versions of themselves for a fictional Seinfeld reunion show, all within teh storyline of Curb.

As the episode aired in November 2009, fans think enough time has passed that a full-on Seinfeld reunion special, a la the one Friends just got, is due.

Hosted by James Corden, the new HBO Max release saw the beloved cast of the sitcom reminisce about their time together, play games, and catch up.
