How do you get to be a contestant on The Price is Right?

BECOMING a contestant on The Price Is Right is a complicated process, but one that pays off.

The longest-running game show hosted by Drew Carey has 52 seasons and counting since its first episode aired in September 1972.

How do you get to be a contestant on The Price is Right?

When applying to star on The Price is Right, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old (barring special episodes with younger contestants).
  • Be a legal resident of and live in the US.
  • Have not been on The Price is Right in the past ten years or more than two other game shows in the past year.
  • Not be running for political office.
  • Not be related to or know anyone who works for The Price is Right, FremantleMedia, CBS Corporation, or CBS Broadcasting Inc.
  • Not work for a television affiliate of CBS or local and national sponsors of the show.

The show, which has moved its filming location to Glendale, California, also asks its contestants to go through an audition process with producers beforehand.

There are over 300 people in the studio per show, and only 9 of them are chosen to play.

How can you get tickets for The Price is Right?

Tickets to watch the show are usually released a month in advance.

Each day, two to three shows are filmed.

Fans must head to to get the chance to score tickets.

Aspiring studio audiences are advised to only select one show per day, but if you wish to attend more than one taping, you may inquire about ticket availability during check-in.

The Price is Right is broadcasted at 11am EST on CBS, Monday through Friday.

If you've cut the cord, you may stream episodes on the CBS website.
