Love Island start date leaked early as show prepares to return to iconic Majorca villa
LOVE Island will return this summer - and the launch date has been leaked online.
A fan site has told how the series is set to start on June 28 at 9pm.
It means there's just five weeks to go until a whole host of stunning islanders enter the iconic Majorca villa.
Last series was cancelled for the first time in the show’s history because of the coronavirus outbreak.
The decision to pull the plug on the popular ITV2 show last summer came after bosses admitted they could not guarantee the safety of the contestants amid the on-going Covid-19 pandemic.
It's hoped this year will be unaffected, but the return date is subject to change if the pandemic interferes with filming.
The Sun revealed how sex starved Brits had been using their time in lockdown to apply for the show and binge watch the previous six series.
Meanwhile bosses have been working to make Love Island bigger and better after almost a year and a half off-screen.
It's set to be the most inclusive series yet – with ITV sources saying staff have been on the hunt for bisexual islanders.
Show chiefs briefed that they would be happy if 40 per cent of contestants were attracted to both men and women.
They are hoping to heighten the drama on the hit ITV2 series with unexpected romances.
Laura Whitmore will return as the host of Love Island, alongside her husband, comedian Iain Stirling, who narrates the series.
Fan site Love Island Reactions posted a meme from The Simpsons showing Homer staring at the TV with the caption: "Me every night at 9pm from the 28th of June."
The Sun revealed this week that workmen are grafting at the Majorcan villa to get it into shape for the summer.
Construction work on the site is in full swing with heavy machinery, portable offices and building materials in abundance.

There are also boards with clear coronavirus rules written on dotted around the site to stop any potential spread of the disease.
A source told us: "Love Island bosses are determined to return to the villa this summer and have worked hard to make it happen.
"Although they are confident the series will go ahead in the original location, there are still concerns over rules suddenly changing. However, at the moment it's looking good."
