MATTHEW Perry's "slurred" speech in the Friends reunion promo video was due to emergency dental procedure not a drugs relapse, a source has claimed.
Matthew, 51, sat down with the cast of Friends for a "three question" interview with last week about the upcoming HBO Max special.
Many fans also expressed their concern over Matthew, who has struggled with addiction since his time on the award-winning show.
One wrote: "This felt so good seeing but also broke my heart seeing Matthew Perry like this."
Now a source has told The Sun that Matthew had actually undergone an emergency dental procedure which left him in pain - and he has not relapsed.
The actor, who claimed to be 48 instead of his true age of 51, wrote in his bio: "Six feet tall. Looking for miss right or to have some fun along the way. Prefer the natural look."
Earlier this month the actor was called out for allegedly to a 19-year-old girl named Kate Haralson.
The Friends reunion special called is due to air on May 27, 2021, on HBO Max.
All six original cast members including Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Matthew will return to the screen.
