EastEnders star Luisa Bradshaw White opens up about living with bipolar
EASTENDERS star Luisa Bradshaw-White has opened up about living with Bipolar.
The actress - who played Tina Carter in the BBC soap up until this year - has spoken about how she copes with her illness in an inspiring essay for Mental Health Awareness week.

Luisa writes in the : “I have Bipolar Disorder, which luckily I have been stable from from years, although I look back and am shocked I didn’t get diagnosed earlier as I see patterns of it throughout my whole life.
“Bipolar took me to a land of hell, that I just couldn’t seem to get back from.
“My highs were so out of control and left me extremely vulnerable and my life was full of fear and anxiety.”
She added that she discovered breathwork as a coping mechanism and it changed her life.

Breathwork is a kind of therapy involving the conscious control of breathing patterns under supervision.
“It was breathwork that finally changed everything for me,” she added.
“That and persistent self love and self care. Through breathwork I learned to swap the agitated out of control constant rush of adrenalin (the bipolar high) for what I now call a spiritual euphoria, which was just infinitely better!”

The star will be hosting regular “breathes” on her Instagram page and credits it with helping keep her stable for years.
Luisa recently shot down fan hopes that she was returning to EastEnders despite her character Tina being murdered by Gray Atkins.
She posted about going to work on her social media accounts and fans assumed she was returning, however she later pointed out she had landed another role.
