Loose Men: Why has Loose Women changed its name?
YOU may be wondering why ITV favourite Loose Women seems to have changed gender for the day.
It's all in honour of Mental Health Awareness Week. Find out more here...
Why has Loose Women changed to Loose Men?
Loose Women has changed to Loose Men for a special episode to mark Mental Health Awareness Week, which airs TODAY (May 13) on ITV at 12.30pm.
It comes as part of Loose Women's Stand By Your Men campaign which aims to raise awareness about how vital it is that men talk as openly about their struggles as the Loose Women do.
ITV said: "As well as discussing mental health, the tools they use and their own personal experiences, the foursome will be delving into hot topics and taboo talking points in true Loose style."
Sally Shelford, editor of Loose Women, said: “We can't wait to welcome the next four brave men who are taking over the Loose Women desk for the day.
“By backing our Stand By Your Men campaign Richard, Robert, Martin and Jordan will be helping to shine a light on such an important topic, empowering men to reach out and get help if they're struggling.
“And of course, our honorary Loose Men will discuss some classic Loose topics to give us that all-important laugh at lunchtime, too.”
Martin told the : "“In more than two decades of Loose Women, we’ve had women’s point of view on everything, and they make great points, but we don’t have men’s point of view all the time on TV in this kind of way.”
He added: "I think there’d be space for another programme for men to run alongside Loose Women in the future.”
Is Loose Men a one-off?
Yes, the Loose Men will be taking over for one episode.
But the special episode follows the first all-male panel in the show’s 21-year history in November 2020 to mark International Men’s Day.
For fans missing the regular ladies - fear not, they will be back soon enough.
