AUDIENCES are anticipating updates surrounding the mystery of Stranger Things and it's fourth season.

As the fourth season premiere of Stranger Things approaches closer and closer, Netflix fans are curious to know more ahead of the show's release date.

What is the Stranger Things season 4 premiere date?

The fourth season of Stranger Things will be broken up into two different parts.

Therefore there will be two different premiere dates, a separate date for each part.

Save the date as the first part of season four of Stranger Things will premiere on May 27, 2022.

Meanwhile, the second part of the must-watch series will be released on July 1, 2022.

Will season 5 be the end of Stranger Things?

The two-parter of season four of Stranger Things will not be the end of the story for fans.

However, it looks as if the adventures of the Stranger Things cast will come to an end after season 5.

Netflix shared the news announcing that the wide-reaching show is renewed for a fifth and final series.

According to the showrunners, credited as the Duffer Brothers, shared the heartbreaking news in a letter.

The letter which was shared on Netflix’s blog stated: “Seven years ago, we planned out the complete story arc for Stranger Things.

"At the time, we predicted the story would last four to five seasons. It proved too large to tell in four, but — as you’ll soon see for yourselves — we are now hurtling toward our finale."

"Season 4 will be the penultimate season; season 5 will be the last.”

The sci-fi-horror series first premiered on July 15, 2016.

What does the new Stranger Things season 4 trailer reveal?

The trailer shows a flashback with Dr. Martin Brenner speaking to some children at a facility, presumably, the one Eleven was in.

Fans can expect a more in-depth backstory of Eleven’s life and stories about other peers of hers from the facility. 

A previous season four trailer released on February 14, 2020, confirmed that Chief Hopper - played by David Harbour - is alive.

Although he is battered, bruised, and being held captive in a prison camp in Russia.

The show's creators, the Duffer Brothers said of the return in a press statement: "Although it’s not all good news for our American; he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human...and others."

They added: "Season 4 is shaping up to be the biggest and most frightening season yet, and we cannot wait for everyone to see more. In the meantime, pray for the American."
