MATTHEW Wright has agreed to chop off his ponytail to raise money for charity after being mercilessly mocked on today’s This Morning

The 55-year-old has divided fans with his new look after growing his hair in lockdown and despite hairdressers now being open, he decided to keep the addition.

But his appearance left Rochelle Humes gobsmacked today as she spotted it for the first time.

Looking completely bemused, she said: “It doesn’t make sense. It’s got to go.”

Very proud of his hair, he told Rochelle: “It’s business at the front, party at the back.”

And it wasn’t long before Phil Schofield joined in and started mocking him.

He said: “Oh you’ve only just noticed that? The rat tail!"

Camilla Tominey, who was also on the sofa, suggested they set up a poll to see if viewers think he should chop it off. 

The results were 91% in favour of him getting rid of live on TV.

Matthew said he would for a good cause and Phillip replied: : "Oh listen, I’ll come up with one straight away!”

It was suggested he raised money for the Duke of Edinburgh Award and he agreed he would do it next time was on.

Phillip added: "No it’s yours to choose. We’ve all sat here and watched the damn thing grow!"
