Where is Too Close filmed?
Isle of Sheppey
The filming of the three-part series actually caused some difficulty for the residents of Kent, after production were closed a major bridge to finish a scene.
The filming, carried out by production company Snowed In, caused a stir in November 2020 after wrongly closing the Sheppey Way and Kingsferry Bridge on the Isle of Sheppey,
The closure left a number of cyclists stranded as they filmed scenes for the thriller.
The film crew defied orders and were actually supposed to have allowed pedestrians and cyclists to continue using the bridge.
They were the subject of a telling off from the Kent Film Office and forced to apologise.
Holloway Prison
Some scenes for the drama featured the former prison for women and young offenders in London, HMP Holloway.
The jail closed in 2016 but was used for scenes between Chernobyl star Emily Watson, who plays forensic psychiatrist Dr Emma Robertson, and Denise Gough’s character Connie Mortensen.
Emily said: “We both thrived filming the scenes in the psychiatric unit. Actresses like me and Denise, that’s what we love doing.
“That’s like a really great day at the office. It’s thrilling to do. A real acting workout. We filmed the psychiatric unit scenes at the now-closed Holloway Prison in London.
“It was a really grim place. Now a dead building which has housed so many sad lives. Those scenes are very intense.”
The series was filmed on a "closed set" due to coronavirus restrictions in the film industry so visitors were not permitted.
