Will Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page appear on season two of the series?
SEASON one of Bridgerton was a massive success and fans are excited to see the return of the cast in season two.
Netflix's hit show will see the return of some key stars, but fans are worried about who they may not see in the upcoming season.
The show, which is based off of the Julia Quinn novels of the same name, follows the books in that regard, as the Duke's character arc is mostly resolved in the first book: The Duke and I.
Bridgerton's social media account wrote, "While all eyes turn to Lord Anthony Bridgerton's quest to find a Viscountess, we bid adieu to Regé-Jean Page, who so triumphantly played the Duke of Hastings."
"We'll miss Simon's presence onscreen, but he will always be a part of the Bridgerton family," the statement continued.
Page took to Instagram to address his role on the show.
"The ride of a life time," he wrote in his post.
"It's been an absolute pleasure and a privilege to be your Duke. Joining this family - not just on screen, but off screen too," he wrote.
He concluded his post saying the "love is real and will just keep growing."
What is season two of Bridgerton about?
While Page may not be reprising his role as the Duke of
Hastings, the show plans to continue on following the books.
The series of books work as a sort of anthology, following the romantic endeavors of different siblings and people in the Bridgerton family.
The second novel, entitled: The Viscount Who Loved Me, will focus on Anthony, played by Jonathan Bailey.
The new episodes of the series, slated for release sometime in 2022, will also introduce fan-favorite characters such as Kate Sharma, as well as the return of the Duchess herself, Daphne.
What will Regé-Jean Page be in next?
While Page will unfortunately be leaving the Bridgerton universe, he is still far from gone.
Page had previously been in Roots and Sylvie's Love, which can both be watched on Amazon Prime Video.
Coming up, Page will be featured in Russo brothers’ The Gray Man, alongside Chris Evans. The spy thriller will be available on Netflix.
Page will also be starring in a role in a Dungeons and Dragons film, being adapted by Hasbro and Paramount.
