NBC'S medical drama New Amsterdam, which is based on the book Twelve Patients: Life And Death At Bellevue Hospital by Eric Manheimer, first premiered in 2018.
In March 2022, the show's final season was announced and now fans want to know how they can watch and how many seasons there has been.
What is New Amsterdam?
New Amsterdam follows Dr Max Goodwin as he becomes the new medical director of the fictional New Amsterdam Hospital in .
Goodwin's aim is to reform the neglected facility by tearing up the bureaucracy in order to provide exceptional care to patients.
"Dr Goodwin must disrupt the status quo and prove he will stop at nothing to breathe new life into this understaffed, underfunded and underappreciated hospital," the premise of the show explains.

The series highlights the problems hospitals themselves face in the real world, such as employees whose jobs are becoming obsolete, hospital budget issues, and doctors struggling to treat their patients because they can't afford medications with their insurance.
How many seasons of New Amsterdam are there?
New Amsterdam is currently in its fourth season with season five being the show's last.
It remains unclear why the show is ended but many believe it is due to the show's lower ratings.
It had previously averaged a 2.5 rating among adults ages 18-49 with 11.9 viewers overall but now falls short averaging a 1.13 rating in adults 18-49 and 7.2 million viewers overall, reports.

- Jocko Sims as Dr Floyd Reynolds, cardiovascular surgeon and head of the Cardiac Surgical Department
- Tyler Labine as Dr Ignatius "Iggy" Frome, psychiatrist and head of the Psychology Department
