DANCING on Ice fans have been left raging after the show failed to confirm if Joe-Warren Plant and Vanessa Bauer will be back on the ice when the show returns next week.
The Emmerdale actor and his professional partner had to withdraw from the ITV show last Saturday after they tested positive for coronavirus.
Show bosses then decided to take the skating competition off air for a week after Joe and Vanessa became the fourth pair to withdraw suddenly and other competitors reported injuries.
Fans of Joe and Vanessa have been hoping the week off would allow them to return to the competition, and The Sun revealed earlier this week that they could make a comeback if they tested negative with enough training time for next Sunday’s show.
However, after tonight's special episode which looked back over the show's history, next week's show was teased.
Host Phillip Schofield was heard in a voiceover revealing which celebrities would be taking to the ice, including Rebekah Vardy and Faye Brookes.
But fans were gutted to realise Joe hadn't been mentioned, dashing their hopes they will get to see him skate again.
Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: "Sorry but surly Vanessa and Joe should be allowed back next week they only missed on week and out off isolation now."
Another added: "joe and vanessa should be allowed back next week!!! come on."
A third agreed, writing: "Hmmmm so Joe Warren wasn't mentioned at the end of the show… Does that mean he isn't coming back after all?"

The news comes hours after Joe, 18, and Vanessa, 24, were pictured sharing a hug as they left the hotel where they had spent 10 days isolating after their positive Covid test result.
The stars were seen embracing outside the Buckinghamshire venue, with one onlooker saying: "They hugged for ages. It looked like they might not let go."
The pair are both single after Joe, 18, split from model Nicole Hadlow in the run-up to Dancing On Ice.
They later posed side by side for a selfie, with Vanessa, 24, explaining: "At least I wasn't alone in this."
The Sun Online has contacted a Dancing on Ice representative for comment.
Dancing on Ice continues on Sunday, February 28 on ITV.
