CELEBS Go Dating fans were left swooning this evening after Tom Zanetti officially ditched the mansion girls for fellow star Sophie Hermann.

Earlier today, The Sun revealed that the two celebs had flouted lockdown to spend Valentine's Day together after falling for each other on the E4 show.

And the moment that 31-year-old Tom put his eggs in 34-year-old Sophie's basket finally aired tonight.

The celebs had to choose whether to send the civilians they'd been seeing home from the mansion, or if they were going to continue seeing them in a bid to find love.

Tom had enjoyed a flirty relationship with pretty brunette Kate on the programme, but he admitted that he was "confident" with his choice after going on a date with Sophie the previous day.

He told the love gurus: "I've had an amazing time with Kate, literally the best time, the best laugh, and got really close and created a great connection.

"As far as that goes, that is more of a friend level and to go forward any further is leading us both on."

He apologised to Kate but she insisted she understood and expected his decision, with Sophie unable to hide her happiness as she beamed with joy.

Viewers at home were also happy with the outcome, flocking to Twitter to share their excitement for the celebrity couple.

One wrote: "Omg so are Sophie and Tom gonna become a thing now?"

Another added: "Tom picking @SophieHermannUK - right decison!"

A third gushed: "Sophie and Tom Zanetti are an actual dream can they get married already".

One more tweeted: "Anyone else far too emotionally invested in Sophie and Tom? All we’re saying is, if you guys don’t get together there is no hope for 2021."

The celebrity contestants aren't supposed to hook up with each other on the dating show, but Paul Brunson and Anna Williamson encouraged the pair to investigate their feelings and go on a date together after picking up on their sizzling chemistry.

And it's fair to say that things have only gone from strength to strength, with The Sun revealing today that the pair appeared to break lockdown rules - and ended up in bed together.

The couple accidentally let the cat out of the bag with a series of cryptic Instagram videos - including Sophie's hand covering Tom's mouth as he lay topless in bed.

Currently, the DJ lives in Leeds while Sophie is based in West London -which suggests the pair broke lockdown rules by commuting nearly 220miles to be together on the romantic date.
