Dancing on Ice’s Jason Donovan pulls out of tonight’s show with back pain after Joe-Warren Plant’s shock exit
DANCING on Ice star Jason Donovan has pulled out of tonight’s show with back pain.
The 52-year-old has been advised to rest, but vows to return next week once he’s recovered.
Revealing he won’t be compete tonight, Jason said: “I’ve had back pain the past couple of days and I’m under doctor’s orders to take it easy and sit this week out.
“I’m resting up. I’ll be watching from home and cheering everyone on and I look forward to returning next week.”
Jason’s injury comes in the same week favourite Joe-Warren Plant was forced to quit the show.
The Emmerdale actor, 18, and his professional skating partner Vanessa Bauer got the “shock call” that they both had positive coronavirus test results after rehearsals on Thursday night.
Dancing On Ice insiders have insisted “the show will go on” – despite it being the first time in history all of its reserves have been used up.
Both Joe and Jason won’t be replaced in tonight’s episode.
The show will go ahead with just six celebrity contestants left to fill the next six weeks until the final.
It comes after Billie Faiers was forced to step back from the competition as she suffered a concussion after falling and hitting her head on the ice.
Just weeks before, Denise Van Outen pulled out of the contest as she fractured and dislocated her shoulder in a nasty fall.
Comedian Rufus Hound was then given no choice but to exit the show when he tested positive for coronavirus and was placed in quarantine.
