She was shown a a jacket worn by Connery in the James Bond film Diamonds are Forever and was not only shocked how much it was worth, but the detail in authenticating it.

Expert Stephen Lane talked Bruce through some of the different items on display from the Bond film franchise.

Lane explained that there were many factors that went into determining an item's value.

One factor was “how successful the film is and how much screen time [the item] it has received”, as well as how popular the film remained to this day.

The jacket he wore in the film could fetch up to £25,000 at auction, which shocked Antiques Roadshow's Fiona Bruce

Another test was the “screen-match”, which means it was actually worn by Connery when making the iconic movie.

“There are a number of tells on this jacket that we’ve matched-up to behind the scenes shots, or stills from the film," Lane explained.

“We’ve managed to match the weave on the lapel, so the very distinctive weave of the cloth there.

"In addition to that is the cuff, so the spacing of the buttons on the cuff."

He added: “If you open the jacket up, on the inside it has a very distinctive lining.

“It’s stitched in, in a specific manner and we’ve managed to match that up on-screen as well."

A gobsmacked Bruce replied: "Very fancy," before marvelling at the jacket's value.

“Gosh that’s real anorak territory, isn’t it? When you start matching the weave and things like that," she said.

Lane added: “I mean, yeah. It’s not so much anorak, it’s more attention to detail."

“This has an estimated value of somewhere in the region of about £25,000.”

That figure is peanuts when it comes to some of the prices other 007 memorabilia has fetched over the years.

An Aston Martin DB5 with machine guns, tyre slashers and a revolving number plate, from Goldfinger and Thunderball, sold for £5.2million in 2019, while a limited-edition Jaguar C-X75 from Spectre sold for £930,000.

And in 2013, the Lotus Esprit submarine car driven underwater by Roger Moore in The Spy Who Loved Me sold for £550,000 to tycoon Elon Musk.
