The majority of BGT’s complaints came after Diversity performed a Black Lives Matter dance in September which spurred 25,010 people to get in touch with the watchdog.

ITV defended the performance at the time saying: “ITV stands behind the decision to broadcast Diversity’s performance on BGT.”

Thousands also complained about finalist Nabil Abdulrashid’s stand-up routines about race and religion and judge Alesha Dixon’s BLM necklace.

In total, 31,763 people vented their fury over the primetime Saturday night show to Ofcom.

This Morning was the third most complained about show mostly thanks to an episode presented by Eamonn Holmes, 61, and Ruth Langsford, 60, when guest Sam Delaney branded pharmacists as “pretend doctors” which attracted 3,495 grievances.

Sky News, Love Island, Loose Women, Channel 4’s Gogglebox, Coronation Street, I’m A Celebrity…Get Me out of Here! and Emmerdale were among the most complained about shows.
