Ken's debut as host came just days after Alex's last episode aired on Friday.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jean, 56, and their children Emily and Matthew.

The host also shared adopted daughter Nicky with ex-wife, Elaine.

Fans will remember Ken as a former contestant who's won more than $4 million on the show.

It was announced in November on the Jeopardy! Twitter account that Ken would be a temporary guest host for the show when production resumed on November 30.

Over the years, Ken has become a fan favorite and is known for holding the longest winning streak on the game show with 74 wins.

Once Ken's reign as interim host comes to an end, journalist Katie Couric will serve as the show's host for a week.
