Sheridan Smith’s Pooch Perfect leaves BBC viewers blushing with cheeky innuendo branded ‘too racy for 8pm’
AN accidentally racy comment had Pooch Perfect viewers in stitches as Sheridan Smith's new show premiered on the BBC.
The beloved actress, 39, fronted the Pooch Perfect debut on Thursday night and the show's first episode certainly left a hilarious mark with its audience.

The reality competition sees 16 professional dog groomers compete over eight weeks to be crowned the best in their field in the UK.
Sheridan hosts the show alongside judges Colin Taylor, Verity Hardcastle and vet Bolo Eso.
The judges gave the competitors instructions on what they were looking for from the groomers including a "flattering cut" and "really cute face shapes".
Sheridan then explained, “trimming with clippers will quickly take the dogs coat down to a uniform length."

“The different clipper comb attachments determine how short it will go.”
One contestant Abbie pondered what tools she would use to trim her dog and wasn't sure if clippers were the right choice for her.
“I think I’m just going to scissor her all over,” Abbie said to the camera.
“Rather than put the clippers into it because I think I’m going to mark it if I do.”

Sheridan added: ";Scissoring the body gives more control to the groomer.”
Completely missing the innuendo, Abbie continued: “She’s [the dog] so little and her coat is so thin".
“It’s more time consuming but if it’s done well, it can add a more polished finish to the trim,” Sheridan explained.
Viewers could not help but notice the innuendo and flocked to Twitter to share both their shock and amusement.

“Anyone else laughing when the dog groomers keep saying scissoring? #PoochPerfect," wrote one Twitter user.
Another added: “The way they keep saying scissor is disturbing #poochperfect."
And a third said: “I have decided to scissor my dog all over" - bit racy for an 8pm time slot but let's see where this goes #PoochPerfect.”
While most people loved the first episode, Pooch Perfect is not without its critics.

The RSPCA blasted the programme saying it "sends out a worrying message" and treats dogs as "fashion accessories".
Dr Samantha Gaines told: “We do not believe animals should be painted or dyed for cosmetic reasons.
“Our pets are intelligent and sentient; treating them in this way sends out a worrying message that they are ours to objectify and treat as fashion accessories or toys.”
Hitting back, the BBC defended the new series and insisted “the care and wellbeing of the dogs was of the upmost importance”.

A spokesperson shared: “On set we had an RSPCA approved Animal Welfare Consultant, a Grooming Consultant, and a vet, to ensure that we put every precaution in place to keep the dogs safe and well.
"Every owner was asked if they were happy for their dogs to have some temporary colour put on them.

Actress and television presenter Sheridan said the dog groomers take the competition "really seriously", adding that it is their "livelihoods at stake".
She added that she "had no idea how much skill goes into it".
