This Morning viewers raging as fashion segment features £35 socks and £89 PJs
THIS Morning viewers were up in arms over today's fashion segment as they claimed the clothes being promoted were unaffordable.
With millions facing an uncertain Christmas this year as firms collapse and jobs are lost at a frightening rate, viewers were shocked to see the show describing £35 cashmere socks as stocking fillers.
Another asked: " is she for real? Most people haven’t even had their 100% wage and she’s talking about £35 socks being stocking fillers."
A third fumed: " are you mental? What kind of ridiculous gift prices are those? £35 for a pair of socks?? Your having a laugh aren’t’ you ??"
The pricey segment follows a succession of announcements from major retailers going into administration.
Sir Philip Green’s retail empire Arcadia, that includes brands such as Burton, Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge and Topshop, has collapsed putting 13,000 jobs at risk.
Peacocks and Jaeger, which are owned by Edinburgh Woolen Mill Group, fell into administration last month, putting 21,000 jobs at risk.
While Laura Ashley went bust in March, just before the lockdown was brought in, putting 2,700 jobs at risk.
