Strictly’s Karen Hauer shows off painful scarring after burning her hand as she leaves rehearsals

STRICTLY's Karen Hauer revealed her painful scarring as she left rehearsals last night after burning her hand.

Professional dancer Karen, 38, was leaving her training session with Jamie Laing, 32, when she flashed the fresh scar while texting on her phone.

The pink patch of skin was visible after Karen burnt her hand in October on a candle.

She sported bandages for weeks and was dancing through the pain of what appears to be a first-degree burn and cracked skin.

She revealed how she sustained the injury on It Takes Two last week when host Zoe Ball spotted her hand wrapped up.

Checking if she was OK, Zoe asked: “Hand in a bandage? Is it okay? What have you done?”

“Ah yeah just a little candle burn,” she said.

The stunner is paired with Jamie after he was forced to pull out of the BBC1 show last year because of injury — replaced by the eventual winner Kelvin Fletcher.

In the first week of Strictly, Karen and Jamie were second from the bottom with 14 points, and ended up in the dance off, beating Jacqui Smith and Anton du Beke to stay in the competition.

But by last week they more than doubled their points and topped the leader board after a stunning street dance routine.

Hard-working Karen has been part of the hit BBC One show since 2012 but despite her many years of service, she said she still fears not getting the call to return.

She said: "Strictly has completely changed my life. It’s definitely been the mothership. Hopefully I'll be back.

"It’s nerve-wracking. It all depends on which celebrities they’ve signed up and whether you fit in."
