I'M A Celebrity viewers were in disbelief as opera singer Russell Watson chipped his tooth in his first challenge.
Russell was doing his first trial Laughing Stocks which was worth 5 stars with West End star Ruthie Henshall.
Ruthie would be in a stock and had to read the first part of a joke and Russell would then have to find the punchline hidden in a barrel using only his mouth – the barrel would also contain incorrect punchlines.
The klaxon sounded and Ruthie was immediately covered in rotten tomatoes as she read the first part of the joke – Russell ducked his head into a barrel of slime and found the punchline straight away.
But things went bad as Russell had to find the joke punchlines in barrels of slime, maggots, rotten vegetables and fish guts and along the way.
To viewers' shock Russell said he’d chipped a tooth in the barrel much to the amusement of the other celebs.
Viewers could not understand how the singer managed to chip his tooth on the liquids in the barrells.
One Twitter wrote: "How do you chip your tooth on rotten tomatoes?
Another added: "CHIPPED TOOTH. TAINTED MOUTHS. these could affect your amazing talents. WHY DO THIS."
And a third said: "Tooth fairy is coming for Russell tonight."
The celebs and hosts couldn't help but poke fun at the opera singer.
Dec said he would struggle to sing Nessun Dorma, the famous Aria from Puccini's Turandot opera.
Ever the good sport, Russell started singing it while hamming up the while overdoing the whistle from the new gap in his teeth.
Russell later revealed to his campmates that he chipped his tooth on the side of the barrel.
Ruthie and Russell took part in two more trials as the celebrities watched on.
Twelve stars were up for grabs for Ruthie and Russell – with each star worth a meal for camp.
The Interval was called Eye Scream and worth 2 stars.
Russell and Ruthie had to use their mouths to transfer 3 fish eyes from a large bowl into an ice cream tub and then crush a fish eye over the tub for the juice topping, which they did successfully.
The final act was called ‘Critters in Ya Knickers’ and worth 5 stars.
Ruthie and Russell had to wear clear large trousers over their outfit which would be filled with crickets and cockroaches.
Wearing head-phones they had to dance to iconic songs and their fellow campmates had to guess what the song was.
The songs were, Macarena, Single Ladies, Gangham Style, The Birdie Song and Proud Mary, which the celebrities guessed correctly winning 5 stars and having a dance along the way.
Ruthie was very happy at their debut performance at their Trial. "I'm absolutely thrilled we got 11 stars.
In the Living Quarters, some of the original campmates were talking about the impending new arrivals.
