Furious fans have reached out to the telly watchdog over Jordan’s graphic vomiting scenes during the series’ launch night.
Terrified Jordan, 30, was seen puking into a bush just minutes into the show’s launch after he was asked to scale a huge cliff before moving into Gwrych castle.
The BBC Radio 1 DJ, who has a fear of heights, was physically sick and the camera crew dashed after him to catch him mid-flow.
Viewers watched in horror as Jordan vomited out of fear before abseiling down the cliff to retrieve his rucksack – and while some wondered why he signed up to the show others complained to telly watchdog Ofcom over the graphic scenes.
On Monday, The Sun Online exclusively revealed that the graphic scene had received 37 complaints at the time.
An Ofcom spokesperson told us: “I can confirm that we received 37 complaints in relation to Jordan North vomiting.”
However, the initial number of complaints has increased drastically – with other viewers also contacting the TV watchdog over “concerns around animal welfare and the show’s carbon footprint” as well as social distancing.
Yesterday, we revealed that the ITV series faced MORE Ofcom complaints by fans – who were furious about live animals being “squashed” in trials.
Earlier this week, Jordan fought back tears and claimed he had “never been so scared in his life” as he faced a terrifying snake trial, Viper Vault, with co-star Shane Richie.
The Radio 1 DJ confronted his fear of snakes as he and actor Shane tackled The Viper Vault challenge.
The pair were chosen by the public to take part in the trial, which saw them locked inside vaults built into the floor of the Welsh castle hosting this year’s series.
Inside each vault was five locked safes, each containing a star that would earn a meal for camp.
But of course they weren’t alone, as packed into the vaults were 60 snakes.
They then had to work together to find the codes for the safes.
But as the distressed Jordan and frightened Shane worked their way through the terrifying trial, some fans were left concerned for the snakes who were being “squashed” during the challenge.
A spokesperson for regulator Ofcom confirmed to the Mirror that last night’s episode clocked up 13 complaints in total – all relating to animal welfare.
