I’M A Celebrity’s new arrivals get a brutal welcome to the show tonight – with Rushie Henshall being battered with rotten tomatoes.

The 53-year-old musical theatre star was revealed as one of two new arrivals in the castle alongside Russell Watson, also 53.

She was blasted with rotten tomatoes as part of tonight’s messy trial

Tonight the pair are made to dress up as jesters and doused with rotten vegetables after having to answer jokes.

The existing I’m A Celeb line-up – who thought they would be doing a trial – are shown watching on as their new co-stars got drenched.

Ruth is seen in a sneak-peek dressed up as a court jester trapped in a set of medieval stocks.

She reads out the joke: “What did medieval postmen wear?” as the team guess the answer: “Chainmail.”

Russell, a renowned opera singer, then has to plunge his head into a barrel of red gunk to find the punchline with his mouth.

It looks more tame than last night’s Frights of the Round Table task, which saw Vernon Kay eating a large deer testicle to win meals for the camp.

In the event, the team managed to pull off a record win, picking up ten stars and bagging a quail dinner for them and their co-stars.
