I’m A Celebrity’s popular past stars Joey Essex, Vicky Pattison and Charlie Brooks to return for new series
TELLY favourite Joey Essex is part of a surprise trio of popular past contestants returning to I’m A Celebrity . . . Get Me Out Of Here!
The Only Way Is Essex star, 30, will join former winners Charlie Brooks, 39, right, and Vicky Pattison, 32, at new ITV show venue Gwrych Castle in North Wales.
The trio have not yet been told by ITV producers exactly what their involvement will be.
But bosses have discussed putting them in the camp for a night, getting them to present a trial, or having them pop up as part of new yet-to-be-decided features.
They have told all three to prepare for “all eventualities” and to pack appropriately.
Charlie, the 2012 Jungle Queen, was seen lugging bags into a blacked-out people carrier yesterday morning before being driven to Abergele, North Wales, where the series is being filmed.
Vicky, who won in 2015, has been isolating ahead of a planned appearance at new venue Gwrych Castle.
Joey Essex — who came fourth in the 2013 series - has also been taken to the site, where he will film segments with presenters Ant and Dec.
A castle source said: “ITV producers love having a trick or two up their sleeve.
“What better way to celebrate 20 series of the show than getting some of the stars of yesteryear to take part in some way?
“As always with the jungle, they’re keeping their cards close to their chest and have yet to decide exactly what they will do with Charlie, Vicky and Joey, but it could be any number of things.
“They told them they had to spend some time isolating, just like this year’s contestants have done, ahead of being taken up to Wales.
“There’s even a chance they’ll isolate, travel to Wales, and not even get used.
"But it’s three great options for producers to have in the locker.”
