However John Altman, who played her son Nick, has now revealed his on-screen mother could return if the storyline was right.
Speaking to , the 68-year-old actor said: "If they offered her a really good storyline she would be tempted. I think that would be the key.
“But she’s getting on, bless her, and being 93 she does get tired easily.”
John appeared on the show at various times from 1985 until Nasty Nick was killed off in 2015.
The actor recently insisted June needed to be brought back to wrap up Dot's story herself.
Speaking to the Mirror he said: "Things fizzled out last time she was there, and I think she was rather disappointed.
"Obviously it's up to the BBC and her to discuss it, but it would be lovely to see, it really would. I think someone should get a campaign going."
John also spoke about his own exit from the BBC soap, revealing he argued against Nick being killed off.

He said: "I was a bit upset. I did say to the producer, Dominic Treadwell-Collins, ‘Maybe we shouldn’t do this.’ And he said, ‘No, we’re going ahead with it.’
“June said to me, ‘Well you might as well do it, love. Because even if you’re not in the programme they still might kill you off.’"
He continued: “It’s a shame, because sometimes they do these things just to up the ratings for a week.
“I always thought Nick could still be sitting in a corner of The Vic, moaning and cursing everybody. Still evil at the age of 80.”
