But Leanne won’t have any of it and, in scenes set to air this week, will track down a doctor from a hospital in Germany where they can treat Oliver.
A defeated Steve then tells Tracy and Emma that the treatment is going to cost a whopping £500,000.
Emma promises to come up with some fundraising ideas, but Tracy will seem more sceptical about the treatment.
Viewers know that Oliver was diagnosed with an incurable form of mitochondrial disease earlier this year after suffering from a number of seizures.
But Leanne has struggled to come to terms with her son’s illness, which will eventually take his life, and has continued to insist that everything is going to be fine.
Next week’s episodes of Corrie will see Emma do her best to recruit sponsors for her silence to raise money for Oliver’s treatment, but Leanne is left fearing that they’ll never manage to raise enough.
