CORONATION Street’s Ray Crosby has a secret ally in his evil scheme to destroy the cobbles.
The businessman - who is played by actor Mark Frost in the ITV soap - was revealed tonight to be behind the sinkhole at David Platt’s house - and The Sun Online can confirm it is part of a larger scheme.
He has already blackmailed Kevin Webster to take control of the garage’s buildings, and schemed to take the Bistro from Michelle Connor.
And now he’s set to take David Platt’s house - but he isn’t working alone.
Actor Mark Frost revealed to The Sun Online how there is a secret cobbles resident helping him take control.
He said: “It’s nice that someone has kept quiet about his activities and kept it under the radar.
“Their motivations for doing so are quite interesting and he might even have an ally in getting what he wants. That’s all quite exciting and the development of that will be really interesting.”
The expert who the Platts called out to survey the damage then appeared in Ray’s office and it became clear this was an inside job.
The man said it all went smoothly but Ray was rattled.
He said: “Is that a joke? I had to find out from some goth in a cafe. And you could have killed someone.”
The man replied: “You wanted me to give them a scare without damaging the house.

“I think I did a pretty good job given the brief. It’s impossible to judge when the actual collapse will happen. You can’t make an appointment with a sinkhole. So what’s next?”
Ray then revealed his plan was to buy David’s house and add to his collection of properties owned on the cobbles.
He added: “Next I find out what Mr Platt will do to get out of this hole.”
