There was a delay on the series being filmed, but it's good news for all motorheads as the team is ready to go to ensure the series is back on its feet.

Kate Phillips, BBC's entertainment controller explained: "Top Gear is very much up and running.

"The big difference is we won’t be able to do all the foreign trips although a couple were done before lockdown.

"The inventiveness they have brought to the table, they are very, very funny, proper belly laughs."

Take Me Our presenter Paddy, 47, is set to make a hero’s return to his hometown Bolton as part of this year’s series, with other locations including North Yorkshire.

Paddy joked that the biggest lesson he took from the series was "supercars don’t like the rain" after he managed to crash a £250k Lamboughini.

Earlier this month, it was reported that cricket legend Freddie Flintoff has written a self-help book called Right, Said Fred.

It has been promoted as a “bible of straight talking honesty”, is set to be released in October.

Commenting on his new show, the former athlete said: "People need a laugh at the minute, don’t they?

"Hopefully my book is a chance to escape the scrolling doom appearing on everyone’s iPhones right now.

"It’s been a welcome distraction for me during lockdown. I hope it can help give a few people a few stories, chuckles and a bit of time away from it all."
