Death in Paradise’s Florence Cassell star hints at early exit in season 10 amid rumoured romance with Neville Parker
DEATH in Paradise's Florence Cassell star has hinted at an early exit in season 10 amid a rumoured romance with Neville Parker.
It was confirmed last month that actress Josephine Jobert would be reprising her role as DS Cassell after her absence from season nine.
However Josephine has hinted her return to Death in Paradise isn't a long-term one, after a fan asked if it was permanent.
She replied on social media: "Permanently? I don't know yet. And I appear very early in the episodes."
The revelation comes after the BBC teased at a romance between Florence and Detective Inspector Neville Parker, played by Ralf Little.
Ralf joined the series during season nine after Ardal O'Hanlon left the island as DI Jack Mooney.
A synopsis for season 10 reads: "Florence thinks she’s ready to get back to work after her fiancé’s death two years ago – but she hasn’t banked on her new boss, Neville.
"As she tries to understand his peculiarities, sparks are bound to fly.
"Neville soon realises he is existing in the Caribbean, rather than embracing life there.
"With Florence’s help, he determines to seize the day and finds himself starting to reveal some of his secrets – including of a romantic nature."

Josephine previously left the series in 2019, explaining: "I quit the show for personal and professional reasons - nothing dramatic I swear!
"Everything is fine it's just that I've been working on Death in Paradise for five years… I loved every minute of it.
"I'm going to miss the show, I'm going to miss Toby and Ardal and Shyko and everyone so it's been a tough decision, but that's life."
Death in Paradise seasons 1-9 are available on BBC iPlayer.
