Better Call Saul boss hints at Kim Wexler death in final season after Jimmy’s wife plots secret sabotage
Better Call Saul's boss has hinted at Kim Wexler death in the final season after Jimmy's wife plotted a secret sabotage.
The fifth season saw Jimmy's spouse - played by Rhea Seehorn - quit her corporate law job and suggest to her husband that they secretly sabotage Howard Hamlin to finally get the Sandpiper suit settled.
Season six will be the final series of the show, which is a prequel to Breaking Bad, and show boss Peter Gould has hinted fans should start to question why Kim isn't in the original drama.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, he said: "[The] big question is: 'Where is Kim Wexler when Saul Goodman is Saul Goodman dealing with Walt and Jesse?' Where's Kim Wexler?"
While he didn't say she dies, Peter clearly enjoyed giving Better Call Saul fans something to think about ahead of the final season.
He said of Bob Odenkirk's lead character: "Anybody who watches the show carefully and is thinking about where this is all going, one of the questions you have to ask yourself is: 'What does this man deserve?'
"Not just: 'What's going to happen to him?' but 'What would be a deserving end to this?'
"'Does Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman/Gene Takovic deserve death? Does he deserve love?
"What would be the most fitting end for this guy – for the show?' Obviously the end for everybody is death, but that may not be where we leave this guy.
"Is there any way for him to win any redemption after everything that he's done?"

Meanwhile, Peter recently left fans disappointed by revealing there were no plans for Walter White or Jesse Pinkman to make cameo appearances in the final season.
Speaking to Collider, he explained: "I like to think that we don’t have as much of an obligation to have Walt and Jesse back in Better Call Saul because they’re such a great appearance in [spin-off movie] El Camino.
"But having said that, I would love to have them back. I’d love to have Bryan [Cranston] direct an episode."
Better Call Saul seasons 1-5 are available on Netflix.
