Emmerdale star Emily Head lands new role in The Syndicate alongside Kym Marsh and Katie McGlynn
EMILY Head has landed a new role in The Syndicate after quitting Emmerdale.
The actress - who played multi-millionaire Rebecca White in the ITV soap - will star in the new series alongside fellow soap stars Kym Marsh, Katie McGlynn and Gaynor Faye.
She quit in 2018 after Rebecca decided to leave the village with Ross Barton after her traumatic brain injury and his acid attack wounds.
Emily will play Colette in the drama which will deal with the staff of Woodvale Kennels when they win the lottery as part of a syndicate - but are cheated out of their winnings.
Writer Kay Mellor teased: "This series is a brand-new story about a syndicate of low paid kennel workers who think they’ve won the lottery but have been robbed of their ticket.
"The chase to confront the culprit takes us to the wealthy French Riviera where the young syndicate find themselves well out of their depth."
Neil Morrissey will also be part of The Syndicate's cast, playing a newsagent with aspirations of living the high life.
Emmerdale actress Gaynor - who is the show's writer Kay Mellor’s daughter - stars as his long-suffering partner.
The Sun also revealed how Strictly star Joe Sugg had landed a part in the show.
Joe will play an aspiring musician named Sam, who is struggling to commit to on-off girlfriend Roxy, played by Stella actress Taj Atwal.
A TV insider said: "Joe has always been passionate about making the leap from YouTube sensation to TV personality.
"His Strictly success demonstrated that his popularity isn’t limited to online, and opened up a host of new opportunities for him, including the chance to act.
"He knows he has a lot to prove and is taking this latest career turn very seriously.

"Just like when he was written off as a mere YouTuber on Strictly, he is looking forward to showing everyone what he is capable of."
Joe had a brief spell in West End stage musical Waitress last year, but The Syndicate will be his biggest acting job to date.
