Grey’s Anatomy stars Richard Flood and Anthony Hill promoted to series regulars for season 17
GREY'S Anatomy has made some serious casting adjustments ahead of the upcoming season.
Richard Flood and Anthony Hill have been promoted to series regulars in the hit medical drama.
Meanwhile recurring member Stefania Spampinato has joined the cast of Station 19.
Producer and showrunner Krista Vernoff said: "I am so excited to add Anthony Hill, Stefania Spampinato and Richard Flood to the Station 19 and Grey’s Anatomy families.
“They are huge talents who made a big impact with our fans, with our casts, and with our writers who are eager to write more for them.”
Flood joined Grey’s in season 16 in a recurring role as Dr. Cormack Hayes, a paediatric surgeon, while Hill guest-starred last season as Dr. Winston Ndugu, a man from Maggie’s past.

Meanwhile, it’s been confirmed that Grey’s Anatomy season 17 will tackle the covid-19 pandemic, which has tragically killed over six million people worldwide in the past eight months
The news was announced by Vernoff, who joined Chandra Wilson (Dr. Miranda Bailey) and Kevin McKidd (Dr. Owen Hunt) on the Quaranstreaming: Comfort TV That Keeps Us Going panel.
"We’re going to address this pandemic for sure," they confirmed.
"There’s no way to be a long-running medical show and not do the medical story of our lifetimes."
Vernoff, 46, also teased a collaboration with real life doctors and nurses who have experienced being on the front line during the pandemic.
She revealed: "The doctors come in and we’re the first people they’re talking to about these types of experiences they’re having.
They are literally shaking and trying not to cry, they’re pale, and they’re talking about it as war, a war that they were not trained for."
