Ella’s new love interest in Lucifer season 5 confirmed after suffering ‘crisis’ in wake of Charlotte’s death
The new season of Lucifer is set to bring even more drama and suspense - plus it looks like romance is on the cards for one of the show's main characters.
In a new set of teaser pics actress Aimee Garcia, who plays Ella Lopez, and new star Alex Koch playfully pose in Star Trek-themed attire, with prosthetic ears completing the look.
As a self-professed nerd, it looks like Ella has finally found someone on her wavelength.
Entertainment Weekly exclusively revealed that Alex will appear in Lucifer's fifth season as Ella's new love interest, Pete Daily.
Producers have described Pete's character as, "endearing, nerdy, and friendly. "
Aimee Garcia couldn't hide her excitement when asked about her character's newfound relationship with someone with who Ella shares so much in common.

Speaking to EW, the actress explained: ""It's just bad news bears in the love department for Ella, which I like because she can't be perfect. Then, she finally, finally, finally, dates a good guy."
She continued: "And it's so much more intimate because it's not just physical. They go to Star Trek conventions together, and they go to dinner and there's wine and candles. They speak Klingon together."
"It's a match made in heaven. He's the male version of Ella. He's just as geeky."
The development marks a positive change for Ella, as fans have seen the character endure her fair share of strife.

The actress noted: "While she went a little bit to her darker side in season 4, I think in season 5 we're going to see this unapologetic, almost real-life angel spiral a little bit with who she is and we're gonna get to see a side of her that isn't Susie Sunshine and hopefully every girl and every guy who watches the show will say, 'Oof, we've been there.'"
