365: DNI stars have jumped to the defence of the kinky film after viewers petition Netflix to ban it.

Earlier this month it was revealed 70,000 people had signed a petition to get the Polish erotic film removed from the streaming service.

Now, the 365 DNI stars - Anna-Maria Sieklucka and Michele Morrone - have spoken out in its defence.

Anna-Maria plays Laura Biel, who is kidnapped by Michele's Italian gangster Massimo and forced into a sexual relationship which eventually turns into love.

Speaking about the role, Anna-Maria said: "The biggest surprise while working on this film was related to the emotions inside me, which I had to bring out.”

And Michele insisted the film was a love story, as when asked what Laura and Massimo learn from falling in love, he said, “Actually … in your question, there was the answer: love."

However, a lot of people disagree, as the Change.org petition blasted it for “glorifying Stockholm Syndrome and abuse” and said its availability on Netflix was a “mockery” for victims and survivors of sexual assault and abuse.

It reads: "For those who have watched it, we know he talks about child trafficking, sedates her, imprisons her, sexually assaults her and has sexual relations with her without consent.

"The main character also uses abuse tactics such as gas lighting, coercion, reproductive coercion and Stockholm Syndrome to financially, physically, sexually, emotionally and digitally abuse the woman he had taken.”

It also states the streaming giant should have included a disclaimer about the sexual violence within the film, and wants it removed permanently.

The petition added: "By taking down this movie on Netflix, we can protect sexual violence in adolescent women and adult women.”

The protest comes after Welsh singer Duffy slammed the film for "glamourising sex trafficking" following her horrific rape ordeal.

The 36-year-old singer penned a powerful statement to Netflix CEO Reed Hastings, urging the streaming service to think about its actions.
