Seven Holby City spoilers for next week as Kian suffers brutal attack
KIAN is at the centre of the medical drama this week as he makes his return and suffers a horrific attack.

1. Essie struggles with her fate
Struggling to come to terms with the fact that she's living on borrowed time, a heartbroken and shell-shocked Essie desperately tries to search for a purpose to her tragic fate.
Eager to find out why her life is being cut so tragically short, Essie soon finds hope in a place she certainly did not expect.
We have seen Essie struggle with her cancer diagnosis and the fact the chemo is not working.
The nurse knows her tumour is growing.
2. Raf rises from the dead...kinda
As Essie's sad story continues to play out, she is visited by a ghost from her past in the form of late husband Raf.
Joe McFadden reprised his role of Raf and will feature in an emotional special episode next week after he was killed off in a shocking storyline in 2017.
He will appear in Essie's imagination and with her desperately searching for answers, her former lover will inspire her to focus her energy on love, not hate or anger, with the time that she has left.
3. Guess who's back...yep, it's Kian!
Next week viewers will see the return of Kian, after he suddenly left Holby last month.
This was never going to be easy for him as he learns of Nicky's heart attack.
Phoenix is the next person for Kian to catch up with, but it turns out to be a very tense and awkward conversation when the grieving teenager asked Kian why he hasn't replied to any of his messages.
4. Believe it or not, he wants to sort things out with Jac
This was never going to be easy for Kian, but when he appears back on the ward next week, he still believes he can save their friendship.
An unimpressed Jac is not prepared to forgive him for leaving them in the lurch, or for how he acted before he left.
Shocked by her response, Kian is upset by her cold words and contemplates leaving yet again.
5. Kian suffers a horrifying attack
Jac doesn't budge and refuses to give him a second chance, which sends Kian over the edge.
He begins to target Phoenix and while the youngster is struggling with his mum Bea's death, Kian starts to wind the teenager up and receives a vicious beating for his troubles.
Kian is admitted to hospital left with shocking injuries following the attack, but will he make a recovery?
6. Ric pursues a personal vendetta against Guy
Ric sets out on a quest to stop Guy working at Holby for good.
Viewers are well aware that there is no love lost between the two, and Guy coming back was always going to rub Ric up the wrong way.
However, with Guy promising to get clean, is he wrong for trying to get him out of Holby? Or is he absolutely right?
7. Essie makes an announcement

Encouraged by her late husband's words, Essie decides it's time to face up to what is happening and tell the other members of the team.
