Coronation Street characters will NOT kiss despite filming guidelines being relaxed
CORONATION Street will not become a hotbed of physical passion despite filming guidelines being relaxed.
ITV and the BBC along with other major channels have developed new guidelines for filming during the pandemic that will allow intimate scenes to be played out.
It will mean dramas like Line of Duty will be able to return to production with less of an impact - however The Sun Online can reveal that Corrie will not be following suit.
A source revealed the soap isn’t planning on changing the current two metre policy yet.
They added: “There are no plans to change the working conditions. The current rules have been brought in and are working for the stories.”
ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, Sky, the BBC and others have developed the rules for producing TV safely in close proximity.
The guidance says that all other options must have been considered, including adapting editorial on-screen requirements.
Under the new rules, people having to work in close proximity will have to take increased screening and daily symptom checks.
They will also have to observe social distancing in their daily life during the filming period.
The rules have been drawn up for interactions essential to a script which would require closer contact than two metres.
