While Michaela admits a second series is unlikely, she does have other equally exciting projects in her mind.

She told the Obsessed With... podcast: "It is in the back of my mind. And I keep telling this idea to wait because we’ve got to finish giving birth to I May Destroy You before I start thinking about having other children!”

While she didn't give any further details of what she has planned for her next project, Michaela advised fans of I May Destroy You to rewatch the 12-episode series.

She revealed: "There are Easter eggs littered all over that show and I think you have to rewatch and rewatch and rewatch to really begin enjoying it.”

Meanwhile Michaela revealed in a recent interview that there is a moment in the finale that got cut from the HBO version in the US but UK viewers got to see.

“There is one tiny shot in episode 12, and we have an HBO version and a BBC version,” she admitted.

Although Michaela didn’t allude to what the moment is, she did say it was “tiny”.

She said: “It’s tiny. You know, it’s kind of like for two and a half years you’ve been really just chilling whilst I presented you with content that’s quite unusual for the BBC.”

"So there was this one moment, and I thought, you know what, that’s fair,” she told the The Hollywood Reporter.

Michaela also revealed how she turned down a $1 million deal for I May Destroy You from Netflix and opted to make the series with the BBC.

I May Destroy You is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
