Holby City spoilers: Sacha and Essie race to bring wedding forward as cancer battle takes bittersweet turn

ESSIE Di Lucca bravely begins a new form of combined treatment with the objective of prolonging her life this week in Holby City.

Sacha then proposes they move their wedding forward and tie the knot as soon as possible.

fans know that Essie received the devastating news in April that her cancer has returned - just as Sacha planned to propose after getting her back.

She then dropped the bombshell last month that she doesn't want to continue with her treatment after discovering that her cancer is terminal.

Episodes of Holby City set to air this week will see Sacha reel from Essie’s devastating prognosis.

Realising he needs to respect Essie’s wishes at this difficult time, Sacha eventually backs her decision not to carry on with her treatment. 

But when Dom sticks his oar in, Sacha tries to convince Essie to continue with her palliative care treatment for now.

Later, with Sacha by her side Essie explains to her doctor that she doesn’t want to continue with invasive treatment that could negatively impact the time she has remaining. 

But later with Sacha out of the picture, Essie explains that she wants to live as long as possible for Sacha and baby Isla. 

Essie then resolves to begin a new form of combined treatment that will help prolong her life.
