Who is Lesley Manville?
Lesley, 66, was born in Brighton on March 12, 1956, and is the daughter of Jean Manville, a former ballet dancer.
She began acting and singing as a Soprano in her teens before landing a place at Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts to train as an actor.
Lesley then went into the theatre world, working with the Royal Court Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company.
Due to her ability to improvise, she collaborated with director Mike Leigh (known for the play and TV film Abigail's Party).
