Flight attendant reveals the big mistake passengers make when sleeping – it annoys crew and could even injure you
A FLIGHT attendant has revealed the big mistake passengers make while sleeping on board.
Kris Major is a seasoned member of cabin crew, dealing with every scenario possible during his impressive 24-year career.
And, the senior steward warned travellers there is a common mistake they make which could cause injury - and annoys the flight attendants.
When holidaymakers try to catch some shut eye it can be hard sitting in cramped seats.
Many of them stretch their legs out into the aisle to combat the issue, while some do it without realising.
But Kris told : “On a night flight particularly, if you put your feet in the aisle and you’ve got dark socks on, we won’t see you, and we’ll trip over you, and it’s a bit of a nuisance for us.”
Other sleep tips included bringing your own eye mask to help block out the cabin lights.
And, although pillows are usually offered on long-haul flights, there are rare occasions when an aircraft won't have enough on board.
Kris said: “It happens.
"So I would say, cater yourself for your own comfort and your own needs as much as you possibly can.”

He added while it may be easy for seasoned flyers to snooze just after take-off, others might find it harder.
The flight attendant said while holidaymakers shouldn't force sleep, it's important to be rested if they need to drive after landing.
This comes as another cabin crew member revealed five holy grail tips for avoiding jet lag on holiday.

"First, 24 hours before your flight change your time to the destination that you are going to," she said in her first hack.

Tommy also advises not touching the button or level to flush the toilet.
