Best Halloween events at UK theme parks including Alton Towers and Thorpe Park

GET ready to be scared this September as theme parks in the UK launch their annual Halloween attractions next month.
There are a number of spooky experiences to terrify guests this year, including Thorpe Park's Fright Fest and Alton Tower's Scarefest.
Many of the events will be running during the month of October, and you will encounter ghosts, zombies, clowns and more.
Some events are so terrifying, they're only open to guests aged 16 and over.
Thankfully, even kids can make the most of Halloween with some family-friendly shows taking place across the UK.
We round up the best theme parks to get a scare this year.
Thorpe Park
Back again this year is , starting from September 28.
For five weeks, attractions featuring The Walking Dead, Blair Witch and Containment will make guests face their worst fears, such as being chased and being left in the dark.

Enter a nightmarish world, full of thrilling twists and turns, where all your deepest fears and disturbing thoughts are imagined live on stage. A fully sensory and electrifying encounter, Ghost Stories is an edge-of-your-seat theatrical experience like no other.
A new addition to the park this year is the Creek Freak Massacre, where guests have to navigate the attraction while separated from the group and being chased by someone wielding a chainsaw.
As part of the event, rides such as Stealth, Saw and The Swarm will be open during the night for riders to experience the rollercoasters in the dark.

Alton Towers
The famous will open again at Alton Towers this year, with three new attractions.
The Alton Towers Dungeon, which opened earlier this year, will feature during the event, as well as two brand new mazes, The Attic and Darkest Depths.
Guest-favourites such as Sub-Species and Project 42 will return to the park, along with Altonville Mine Tours.
As always, many of the rollercoasters will also open at night for guests to ride in the dark, including the Wicker Man, which bursts into flames as part of the ride.

Chessington World of Adventure
From October 12 to November 3, guests will be able to test out a number of spooky attractions.
A park favourite - Creepy Caves Unearthed - returns this year with guests being led through a snake enclosure by Secret Agents.
Trick or Treat Wood and the Haunted Howl'o'ween Live Show will also return, as well as the late night openings allowing guests to ride in the dark.
A new attraction to Chessington this year is Spyders, where families must work together to infiltrate a group of giant spiders in the park.

Legoland
This year, Legoland guests can go .
From October 17 to November 2, there will be a Brick or Treat trail, as well as a daily fancy dress competition and a Build-Your-Own-Pumpkin out of bricks.
Led by Lord Vampyre, there will also be a 3D fireworks show, followed by ride openings after dusk.
Tickets start from £39 per person.
Paulton's Park
Little guests can still get a fright at from October 5.
Peppa Pig and friends will be dressed up as witches and pumpkins for a spooky day, while The Big Boo Barn is great for trick or treaters.
A special late night opening from October 29 to October 31 will feature 10,000 pumpkins, a fancy dress contest as well as a Little Monsters Ball.

Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure
Guests at Norfolk's Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure park can face the thrilling .
Running from October 11 to November 3, experiences like the Mayhem Manor Hotel and Circus of Terror will play on guests' deepest fears of ghouls and clowns.
Guests aged 18 years and over can also take advantage of the three-night PrimEVIL Extreme, which features even scarier experiences to celebrate its 10th anniversary this year.
Tickets start from £21 per person, with guests over 16 only, unless with an adult.
Warwick Castle
Warwick Castle's , running from October 19 to November 3, will terrify guests this year through historical events.
Inside the castle will be an army of the undead, which groups will have to try and escape through the Dead of Knight maze.
Other attractions include the Witches Tower and Haunted Hallows for younger guests, as well as spooky shows at the Dead Centre Stage.

Drayton Manor
Head to Drayton Manor this Halloween for a range of scary events.
An abandoned vicarage The Haunting is their scariest attraction, while pumpkin carving and a Halloween Bale trail is open to kids.

Blackpool Tower Dungeon
This October half term, has a number of live-action stories set to both terrify and educate.
The 90 minute performances, of which there are nine different tales, will teach guests about Lancashire's creepy history.
Witches and plague doctors are just some of the stories, with each one ending with the Drop Dead: Drop Ride.
Tickets start from £11.50 per person.
Blackpool Pleasure Beach
is transforming to a terrifying Vampire Pleasure Beach from October 12.
Guests can expect both zombies and vampires to be roaming the area during the scary nights.
Other events include a Halloween-themed drive in cinema as well as a circus of horrors with terrifying acts and performances.
Tickets start from £23 for kids.
Dreamland
The Margate theme park is bringing back , it's annual Halloween event with creepy mazes as well as live action scenarios such as a sinking ship and a locked-down test facility.
Running on selected dates between October 18 to November 1, tickets start from £20.
