Bob said at the event: "It was Walt’s vision for our theme parks to be places where Disney stories come to life in amazing ways."

Indeed, Disney is now looking to turn many of its best loved films and TV shows into experiences for fans.

As well as experiences inspired by Star Wars, Avengers, Moana and more, Disney will also be launching a new cruise ship as well as new hotels.

And it's not just going to be in the US - there will also be big changes at Disneyland Paris.

Here's what you need to know.

A new superheroes "campus" is debuting at Disneyland Paris from 2020, based on Marvel's Avengers.

The Avengers Campus will feature a new ride through attraction featuring Spider Man, which will give guests a taste of what it's like to have super powers.

Guests will have the opportunity to "sling webs" to help Spider Man collect Spider Bots.

The flagship restaurant on campus will be Pym Test Kitchen, where guests will be able to grow or shrink their food using latest innovations from Pym Technologies.

Fans will be able to meet their favourite superheroes, including Ant-Man and The Wasp, Doctor Strange, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Super Heroes from Wakanda and Asgard, and Iron Man.

There will be over 300 pieces of Marvel artwork on display, spanning eight decades of the company's history.

Plus, there will be themed rooms featuring the likes of Spider Man as well as the opportunity to meet the superheroes up close.

World Showcase

There will be a new nighttime show, HarmonioUS, which will debut next year.

It will feature Disney tunes reinterpreted by new artists as well as floats, fountain shows, lights, pyrotechnics, lasers and more.

The United Kingdom pavilion will be home to a new Mary Poppins attraction, where you can step into a real-life Cherry Tree Lane that features Admiral Boom's house as well as that of the Banks family.

The France pavilion will feature Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure from next summer where guests will "shrink" to the size of Chef Remy to race through Gusteau’s restaurant.

And guests heading to see the Impressions de France film will also be able to watch a new Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along.

There will also be a new restaurant, La Crêperie de Paris.
The Canada pavilion will have a new film, Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360, with new scenes and a new story.

And the China pavilion is getting a new film called Wondrous China.

World Celebration will be the neighbourhood around Spaceship Earth, which will be staying put - but it will feature new story lines.

There will be a new three-storey structure to offer guests spectacular views of World Showcase and it will also be the ideal spot to see the park's nighttime shows.

There will also be new attractions including gardens, a wishing tree, an interactive fountain and Dreamer's Point, another spot for views of the park.

World Nature

In World Nature, guests will have the opportunity to explore a new Moana-inspired trail, known as Journey of Water, where they can play with "magical, living water".

There will also be a new show called Awesome Planet from next January.

Walt Disney World Resort

While still a way away, Disney is already planning its 50th anniversary celebrations in 2021.

It means that lots of new rides, shows and attractions will open then.

One of the new features available from late next year is a Disney Genie app, which will create customised itineraries for guests, making planning a Disney holiday easier than ever.

Disney has just launched its new Star Wars attraction in Florida, but it will also be launching Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, a new experience.

Guests have to check into the spaceship the Halcyon for at least two-nights, during which they will enjoy an immersive Star Wars experience.

Disney will also be launching its first collaboration with Cirque du Soleil, with a world premiere of April 17 next year.

Finally, Disney's Hollywood Studios will welcome a new ride - Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway - from 2020.

Disneyland California

The Avengers Campus will also be debuting in Disneyland California in 2020 - before the one in Paris opens - with many of the similar features.

However, the California park will feature the Avengers Headquarters, which will become a new E-ticket attraction in the future.

The E-ticket attraction won't open until the next stage of the development plan although Disney teased that guests will get to "fly alongside the Avengers in an epic adventure to Wakanda and beyond".

The Headquarters is also the only place you're likely to see the Avengers.

From next spring, Disneyland parks will also be getting a new parade - the Magic Happens parade - which will debut in California first.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will also be launching in California but in 2022.

It will be part of a new area in Mickey’s Toontown.

Hong Kong Disneyland

The biggest transformation at Hong Kong Disneyland will be the new castle, which will be known as Castle of Magical Dreams.

It will take inspiration from Disney classics, and feature elements like Snow White’s apple, Cinderella’s coach, and Belle’s rose.

There will be new daytime and nighttime shows as well as a space where kids can get a "royal transformation".

Disney Cruises

For cruise fans, there will be three new ships on the way and the first of these has been revealed to be Disney Wish.

It will set sail in January 2022 and will feature Rapunzel on the stern.

And while Disney cruisers already get to visit Nassau in the Bahamas on their sailings, the cruise line will soon call at Lighthouse Point on the island of Eleuthera.
