The new ride features a vertical drop and a 'flytrap' vortex

The overlooks the lake, measuring around 60ft (18m) in height.

Riders whizz down a combination of open and closed flume down an almost vertical drop.

The three-person raft then hurtles into the open vortex and swings across the Venus flytrap mouth, perilously close to the lake.

The ride then narrows to a single track for passengers to disembark.

A water coaster which launches passengers across a dual track is to open next year in the US, called the Cheetah Chase.

A similar concept of a roller coaster and water ride hybrid was also announced as a concept which could change the way water slides are designed.

The design features a trolley propulsion system which fires rafts at speed across the track.
